The Lion Who Forgot How To Roar ~ Short Stories
In the heart of a wilden jungle, a lion who lived by the name of leo was the king of all; the lion was extremely powerful and known for his roar that could shake trees to their roots, earning the respect of all the animals. But Leo became arrogant over the Roar.
Every little lion cub would tell all their friends and family that, Oh! I am the King of the jungle because the roar that I have! Leo himself would usually show a disdainful attitude towards rabbits, squirrels, and even wise old owls.
But one warm sunny day an interesting thing happened. It was this day when Leo roared casting open his mouth; nothing came out-not even a cry. He felt embarrassed, confused. Strangely, the arrogance was still there as he tried over and over; the roar never came.
Leo on the other hand never actually slept for a worry so he decided to go and meet up the wise owl. “I’ve lost my roar and from here on, what’s the point because no animal or anyone else will respect me?”.
The wise old owl, hesitated, blinked at leos half faced fashion and said, “its the roar that is loud, but my son, roar does not say what a true leader is.”
Leo: But how would it be that I would be king with no roar. Leo inquired with disappointment looking at his tail.
The owl looked at them knowingly and smiled. "Leadership does not come from envy, or from showing a display power; rather, leadership comes from treating others with decency, and showing compassion for the ones around. You’ll be amazed at how far such kindness can stretch. Help those in need, and there will be no use for a million words, you would be respected for your actions”.
Leo, however still did not believe but certainly was ready to restore his image. He made up his mind too.
Moral: True strength comes from how we treat others, not just from how loud we can be.
